Specialties:
My journey into social work and psychotherapy has always been rooted in one core belief: people are far more capable of growth and change than they often realize. Throughout my career, I have worked in complex and high-intensity settings, supporting individuals and families through crisis, trauma, illness, and death and loss. What I carry forward from these experiences is a deep respect for human resilience and the courage it takes to seek support.
I bring nearly 20 years of experience working with children, youth, adults, and families across hospital, community, shelter, legal, immigration-related, and university settings. My work has included supporting individuals navigating homelessness, involvement in the legal system, and complex social and systemic challenges. I have supported individuals navigating mental health challenges, grief and loss, trauma, substance use, and significant life transitions, as well as survivors of domestic violence and families involved in the legal system.
I also have extensive experience supporting parents in the perinatal period, including those navigating perinatal mood disorders, experiencing neonatal loss, and families with infants admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
My experience in family mediation involves supporting individuals and couples navigating separation and divorce. This has included helping families develop parenting plans, navigate transitions, and working toward more effective and cooperative co-parenting relationships.
My approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and collaborative. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, somatic approaches, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and Gottman Method therapy for couples and relationships. I tailor each session to meet you where you are — helping you better understand patterns, build coping strategies, and move toward meaningful change.
My goal is not to work on you, but to work alongside you as you navigate challenges, strengthen your resilience, and reconnect you with your sense of self, others, and community.
